For best watertight performance, the bulb should compress about 25 to 50 percent of its original height.
Two preapplied adhesive options simplify installation: BT tape, an acrylic automotive grade tape, creates a moisture barrier and airtight seal between rubber and substrate; HT tape offers easier repositioning during installation and cures to full bond strength after about 72 hours. Before applying the seal, clean the bonding surface with a 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and water for optimum adhesion.
