Bestop Traditional Bikini Top for CJ7, CJ8, Wrangler YJ (Black Crush)

Overview

Transform the look and function of your CJ7, CJ8 Scrambler, or Wrangler YJ with the Bestop Traditional Bikini Top in Black Crush. This top is engineered to complement early Jeeps with a snug, factory-like appearance while delivering practical protection from sun, wind, and trail dust.

Why drivers choose Bestop Traditional Bikini Top

Designed for enduring outdoor use, the fabric features factory color matching and marine-grade thread, resulting in a cohesive, durable cover that drapes smoothly over the front seats. The reinforced edges are purpose-built to minimize flapping as you roll over ruts or highway dips. The fabric itself resists water and moisture penetration, helping keep the cabin drier during sudden showers or spray from dusty trails.

Key benefits

• Color-matched fabric with marine-grade thread for long-lasting aesthetics
• High-strength rear straps with footman loop attachment for secure, easy setup
• Reinforced edges to reduce flutter at speed and on uneven terrain
• Water resistance in the fabric helps keep the interior drier
• Industrial-grade webbing and heavy-duty buckles ensure a tight, dependable fit

Fitment and installation considerations

The bikini top covers the front seats and uses two tie-down straps that connect to footman loops at the rear body tub corners. It works with the OE CJ7 Windshield Channel and Bestop Windshield Channel Part Number 5120901, and is designed for specific models: 1976-1986 CJ7, 1981-1985 CJ8 Scrambler, and 1987-1991 Wrangler YJ.

• Requires a Windshield Channel (not included) for installation
• Focus on a snug, weather-conscious fit rather than full enclosure

Real-life use and scenarios

Imagine weekend trail rides along rocky byways, coastal commutes with a sea breeze, or city runs where sun glare is a concern. The bikini top stays in place with its sturdy rear straps and footman loops, offering shade and a cleaner cockpit while leaving the rear open for cargo flexibility.

Care and durability

With reinforced edges and robust webbing, this top is built for repeated on-and-off use and exposure to sun, wind, and occasional drizzle. Regular inspection of the strap connections and a light wipe-down after trips can help maintain the fabric's appearance and performance.
