Demco EZ Latch Trailer Coupler | 2-5/16\" Ball | 21,000 lbs GVWR | Channel Mount | Model 14040-81

Effortless hitching, dependable towing

Demco’s EZ Latch Trailer Coupler redefines how you connect a trailer to a ball. The innovative EZ Latch mechanism automatically locks as soon as the trailer is lowered onto the 2-5/16-inch ball, eliminating the need for pins, levers, or extra tools. This maintenance-free design aims to simplify your setup routine and reduce the chance of a forgotten latch, giving you a smoother start to every trip.

Rugged construction for real-world use

Built from high-strength steel with a corrosion-resistant zinc coating, the coupler is designed to stand up to weather, road grime, and repeated use. The composite latch handle is weatherproof and crafted to operate smoothly in harsh conditions, so you can count on a reliable connection in rain, heat, or cold.

• Fits standard 2-5/16" hitch balls and adjustable channel mounts for flexible installation
• Supports trailers up to 21,000 lbs GVWR, broad compatibility for utility, livestock, cargo, and heavy equipment hauls

Stress-free towing experience

With the EZ Latch, the moment the coupler drops onto the ball, you’ll hear a decisive click that confirms a secure connection. This reduces second-guessing and helps you move confidently from hitch to highway, even when parking on uneven ground or aligning in dim light.

• SAE J684 safety standard compliant for dependable performance
• Includes a limited lifetime warranty on the latch handle for added durability and user confidence

Low-maintenance by design

The system is designed to be maintenance-free, with no grease or adjustments required. This means fewer parts to service and a simpler, more consistent towing experience across many seasons and setups. Model 14040-81 combines robust metalwork with a practical, user-friendly latch system for everyday use.
