xOverview
The Genuine GORILLA-LIFT 2-Sided Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist is engineered to take the weight out of loading and unloading on heavy-duty utility and ATV trailers. Its two-sided, enclosed lift mechanism allows most tailgates to rise and descend with the light touch of a finger, helping you work more efficiently on busy days.
With a focus on safety and durability, this lift helps reduce strain and supports long-term reliability. The system is designed to prevent common issues that occur with frequent use, such as tailgate warping and hinge wear, while remaining adaptable to different trailer configurations.
Key benefits
- Virtually weightless operation: tailgates glide up and down with minimal effort, even when fully loaded.
- Smooth, controlled motion: a gentle touch keeps movement steady and predictable.
- Safety and protection: the low-profile, enclosed housing reduces pinch points and keeps fingers away from moving parts.
- Damage prevention: helps prevent warping and hinge wear on heavy-use gates.
- Adjustable compatibility: works with tailgates 4 ft to 6 ft tall on trailers with side rails 12–24 inches.
- Low-profile housing: compact design fits neatly against the trailer frame and protects the lifting mechanism.
Ideal use scenarios
- On job sites or farms to load equipment, tools, or gear without straining your back.
- ATV and utility trailers for safe, controlled opening and unloading of cargo.
- Daily trailer care and maintenance, helping keep hinges aligned and responsive over time.
What to expect when you install
With proper setup, most tailgates stay in position and float with a light touch, turning a heavy lift into a manageable, controlled motion. The Genuine GORILLA-LIFT design emphasizes reliability in demanding environments, providing steady operation when you need it most.
Durability and fit
The lift uses sturdy hardware and protective finishes to withstand daily worksite use. Its two-sided design distributes weight evenly, reducing stress on the tailgate and hinges. When correctly set, it remains secure and ready for quick, responsive operation.
Compatibility at a glance
- Tailgate height range: 4 ft to 6 ft
- Side rail height: 12–24 inches
- Open utility trailers with standard side rails
