Goodyear Belts 1060545 Serpentine Belt – 6-Rib, 54.5-Inch Length for Buick Encore, Chevrolet Trax & Sonic (2013-2020)

Overview

The Goodyear 1060545 serpentine belt is a 6-rib primary belt designed for modern engine accessory drives. Engineered with a balanced twist polyester cord and a durable EPDM rubber compound, it’s built to deliver steady performance across typical daily driving conditions. This belt is sized for a 54.5-inch length and is commonly used on 2013-2020 Buick Encore, Chevrolet Trax, and Chevrolet Sonic models, helping to power essential components like the alternator, power steering, and AC compressor with minimal tension fluctuation.

Materials and Design

At the core is an EPDM rubber compound chosen for resistance to heat, ozone, weathering, and abrasion. The construction uses a balanced twist polyester cord, which contributes to stable belt tracking and consistent load distribution around pulleys. The 6-rib profile is designed to share torque across multiple ribs, which can help maintain smooth operation under typical driving loads.

Why drivers and technicians notice

• Durable materials that resist heat and environmental wear, supporting longer service life in engine bays with varied climates.
• Balanced design for dependable alignment in day-to-day use, reducing the chance of noisy operation or slippage when under load.
• Appropriate length and rib count coordinate with common 2013-2020 Buick Encore, Trax, and Sonic configurations, aiding proper fitment.

What to expect in real-world use

Users may experience steadier accessory operation, particularly in urban commutes or road trips where the engine drives multiple components. Because belt wear and tension can influence performance, it helps to monitor belt condition alongside other wear items. While results vary by vehicle and maintenance history, this Goodyear belt is positioned as a solid replacement option for those seeking a balance of durability and value.

Maintenance and inspection guidance

• Auto Care Association guidance suggests inspecting belts around 60,000 miles and replacing around 90,000 miles, depending on vehicle use and condition.
• Regularly check for cracks, glazing, and excessive tension to help protect the engine’s accessory drive system.

Why consider this belt

If you drive a model listed for compatibility, this belt offers a straightforward path to maintaining belt-driven components with a focus on longevity and stable performance. It’s a non-technician-friendly option for a swap during routine maintenance, and its material makeup supports resistance to common environmental challenges you may encounter on the road.
