Description
xAll-in-one shim kit for precise ATV valve maintenance
Take control of valve clearance with the Hot Cams 9.48mm Complete Shim Kit HCSHIM02. This kit provides a comprehensive selection that can help you fine-tune engine performance during routine maintenance or a restoration project. The shims are designed to work across popular ATV models, helping you approach maintenance with confidence rather than guesswork.
What’s included and how it helps
The kit includes shims ranging from 0.20 mm to 0.50 mm in 0.05 mm increments, with three shims per size. This layout makes it easier to dial in the exact clearance you’re aiming for during valve adjustments, reducing trial-and-error fits and speeding up the job.
- Wide size range suitable for a variety of engines
- Three pieces per size for quick swapping during setup
- Laser-etched size on top for fast identification
Durability and build quality you can rely on
Each shim is forged from 4140 steel, chosen for its balance of strength and resilience under heat and load. The laser-etched markings stay legible through mounting and servicing, helping you keep track of exact sizes over time. The kit carries a 1-year warranty for peace of mind.
Model coverage to support multiple ATV families
Designed to support a broad range of popular models, including Arctic Cat DVX 400, Honda TRX 450ER/450R, Kawasaki KFX 400/450R, Suzuki LT-R/LTZ 450, and Yamaha YFZ 450/450R/450X variants from various years. This breadth lets you address maintenance without buying multiple small kits.
Practical use scenarios
Use this kit when you’re refreshing valve clearance after wear, tuning performance for a specific riding style, or rebuilding a fatigued top end. The precise increments let you approach the target with measured adjustments rather than broad guesses.
- Avoids guessing when setting valve gaps during a rebuild
- Speeds up routine maintenance by simplifying size selection
- Supports longevity by enabling careful, repeatable adjustments
Note: The kit is intended to support valve maintenance. Results may vary based on engine condition and riding demands.
