Engine Air Filtration for BMWs: C 25 114/1 with Prefilter

The Mann Filter C 25 114/1 is an engine air filter with an integrated prefilter designed for select BMW models. It aims to guard the intake against a range of airborne contaminants while supporting a quiet, smooth running experience. The cartridge uses specially embossed paper that helps keep pleats stable during operation, so the filter maintains its shape even in challenging driving conditions.

In daily use, the prefilter captures larger debris before it reaches the main filter, while the main media targets smaller particles such as dust, pollen, sand and soot. In damp environments, the design also helps limit moisture ingress, which can be important for examples with higher humidity or variable weather. The result can be a cleaner intake stream and a calmer engine note without aggressive changes in performance claims.

What makes this filter stand out

• High efficiency in separating dirt from the intake air, reducing the amount of contaminants reaching the engine intake
• A specially embossed paper surface to maintain pleat stability over time
• Filters a broad range of contaminants including dust, pollen, sand, soot and moisture from the air stream
• Helps soften intake noise for a quieter driving experience
• Vehicle specific fit type ensures proper mounting and seal for compatible BMW models

Real life use and benefits

For daily commutes, road trips and city driving, this filter is designed to perform consistently across climates. A vehicle specific fit means easier installation and a secure seal that helps prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media. While not a guarantee of outcome, users often notice a calmer intake sound and a perceived consistency in engine feel during routine driving.

With the prefilter in place, you get an extra layer of protection at the front end of the filtration system. It can help reduce the frequency of filter checks and may contribute to cleaner air entering the engine over time, supporting the overall filtration strategy of the vehicle.
