SEHNSUCHT SW5 Replacement Leaf Spring Kit for 6000LB Tandem Trailer Axles – 5-Piece Set

Overview: SEHNSUCHT SW5 Replacement Leaf Spring Kit

Engineered for standard tandem trailer axles, this SEHNSUCHT kit brings heavy-duty performance with a practical design. Each leaf spring is rated for 3000 lbs, offering a potential support fit for trailers in the 5200–6000 lbs range. The springs feature a five-leaf stack with a 1-3/4 inch wide blade and a 25-1/4 inch eye-to-eye length, while the 9/16 inch bushings cushion motion and reduce binding during turns.

What sets this kit apart is the combination of materials and coatings. The leaf springs are made from heavy-duty carbon steel to help maintain stability under load, and an anti-rust coating adds a layer of protection against road exposure and humidity. This means you can expect more consistent operation for longer, with less maintenance than typical untreated components.

What’s included and how it helps

• Leaf springs: 5 leaf packs rated 3000 lbs each, designed for 5200–6000 lbs axles; translated to a smoother ride and more predictable load handling.
• U-bolt kit: 4 x 7 inch U bolts, 1/2 inch thread, 3 1/9 inch inside diameter; tie plates for 1-3/4 inch or 2 inch springs; eight hex nuts. This enables secure mounting across common axle sizes.
• Trailer hanger kit: 2 x EQ-E1 equalizers, 6 x 3 inch tall hangers, 8 x shackle straps, 14 x 9/16 inch x 3 inch bolts and locknuts. A complete harness to balance suspension and control sway.

Compatibility and installation notes are clear: ensure the nut is tightened horizontally for the final assembly to achieve the intended seating. This kit is a replacement for SW5, aimed at standard tandem trailer configurations.

Practical uses and care tips

• Ride quality: Expect a steadier trailer ride on uneven surfaces thanks to the five leaf, heavy duty spring design.
• Durability: The carbon steel core plus anti-rust coating helps resist corrosion from road spray and weather.
• Maintenance: Inspect bolts and bushings periodically and re-tighten as needed after the first few miles of use.
