How it works

Wiring is designed to be straightforward and repeatable. Red connects to a 12V DC power source, the fan positive is tied to the kit's labeled output, black goes to the sensor circuit, and gray handles ignition according to the included diagram. The temperature switch must be grounded through the engine block to function, and the engine itself should be grounded for reliable operation.

The temperature switch engages the fan at approximately 185°F and turns it off at about 175°F. The unit uses a 3/8 inch pipe thread with a 1/2 inch adapter included. For balanced performance, a 160°F thermostat is recommended when used with this switch; using a higher temperature thermostat may affect when the fan cycles off.
